Here we have an extremely creative chair manufactured using a method called FIDU which is a German invention which stands for “Freie Innen Druck Umformung”, a form of blow metal forming. This process involves welding various sheets of metal together at the seams, heating up with a flame and then inflated using compressed air set at 0.4bar which forms unique one off patterns and shapes to the design depending on what shapes the metal is cut to, the temperature various parts are heated to combined with the amount of compressed air used and for what length the air is applied. You can read more about the science of this here in this article about “blow metal technology“.

The name of the design of this given to this particular chair by Zieta Prozessdesign is “Chippensteel” sounding very much like the well know Chippendale with a play on the steel aspect of this modern invention.
Given the robust nature of this product being available in stainless steel, or copper it would be well suited to the outdoors and also perfectly fit for indoor use, very eye catching, very unique and very attractive.
